This early 19th-century property was in severe
disrepair, namely its timber structures, roof slates and windows. The design and
refurbishment approach focused on revealing and making good of the existing
granite wall structure, while demolishing several non-original blockwork
annexes and alterations to its fabric. The new white internal layouts sit on dark tropical timber floors to match the
original, while the new glazing and lining elements provide the existing
structure with modern standards of habitability.
